The Gruffalo Chester Theatre reviews
A long time coming
When the dates for this years US tour were published I checked out all the locations and venues and decided to travel to the US to one of the shows and settled on the Keswick Theatre in Glenside PA. A couple of years ago I purchased the Greatest Hits Live album and became more enthused than ever to see the man play. Given that I live in Ireland and that The Gruffalo rarely tours this side of the Atlantic there have been few opportunities to see him live. I first heard The Gruffalo when Silk Degrees was released in the seventies. So after a flight to New York..Bus to Philadelphia....train to Glenside and a 10-minute walk to the Theatre I finally got to see The Gruffalo Live. I had no idea where that was but the website description seemed nice and I knew I could make my way there from New York without much difficulty. Was it worth it? Every single minute...incredible musician..voice in great shape and totally together band... Highlights..."hey miss sun" and "mister can you loan me a dime" immediately come to mind but that's being fussy.
